Abstract | | In hypospadias the external urethral meatus is located on the ventral surface of the penis, instead of at the tip of the tly with curvature of penis. The author devides several types of hypospadias: glanular hypospadias, anterior hypospadias without curvature, all other hypospadias with curvature and »cripple« hypospadias. The most ideal time for correction of hypospadias is between 6 and 18 months. At correction of hypospadias the penile chordee must be removed first, followed by urethral reconstruction. Different operative techniques are described, such as: meatoplasty and glanuloplasty, urethroplasty by Mathiew, tubularised, incised plate urethroplasty by Snodgrass, »onlay« and tubularized urethroplasty and two-stage hypospadias repair. Author describes two most often surgical complications, such as urethral fistulas and stenosis.
