Abstract		Directive 98/8/EC covers evaluation of biocidal products in European Union and it is also implemented in Slovene legislation with Rules on placing of biocides on the market OJ No. 38/00. The main aim of the directive is to protect the market against products whose risks to human health and the environment have not been properly assessed. The common principles for the evaluation of dossiers for biocidal products are in Annex VI of directive. Only those biocidal products can be on the market in the Republic of Slovenia which applicant reported to National Chemicals Bureau in accordance with Instructions on data reporting for biocides, which were on the market by the date, when Rules on placing of biocides on the market OJ No. 65/00 entered into force. There can be on the market also biocidal products with permits or inclusion in register of biocidal products after they had been reported to National Chemicals Bureau in accordance with Act on Chemicals OJ No. 36/99 and Rules on placing of biocides on the market with amendments. Different procedures of permits will also be represented as well as reporting system of biocidal products.
