Abstract		The transition from the current situation to the desired state is the major challenge for information system procurement. The information technology applications in University Medical Centre Ljubljana have been built to match the needs of the functional departments. Changes towards cross-functional organization require also changes in information system support. This paper presents the step by step transition to a process based information system. In the first phase the enterprise nervous system will be implemented. The result will be integrated information system. In the next steps new information technology applications will be connected to the enterprise nervous system, according to predefined standards.
