Abstract		In the beginning of the article theoretical background about empathy and its use in nursing is represented and its use in nursing. The purpose of the research i.s to find out what perceiving and expressing empathy is present with nurses in Slovenia. Crossing demographical variables showed some statistic characteristic differences. Most of them appeared at gender, age and are paralleled with years of working in nur.sing.
