Abstract		A classification is useful only if it considers the severity of the bone lesion and serves as a basis for treatment and for evaluation of the results. It is necessary to have the prognostic value Soft and bone tissue damage is important predicting factor for longterm results so as the soft tissue preinjury status. The optimal primary decision for manegement of the closed or open fracture regarding to the soft tissue damage is also important for fracture healing. The different classifications are helpfully for the correct decision. One of the most world wide known and used systems are AO classification, Gustilo classification and MESS system.
