Abstract		As a result of bone fractures osteitis can be found on every trauma department. The authors show the statistic of osteitis incidence at the Trauma Department General Hospital Celje. Osteitis demands a thorough surgical treatment: sequestrectomy and all implants removal. Stabilization of a fracture must be done extra focally, which can be done by means of external fixation.
