Abstract		Hybrid fixators have developed from the third generation of unilateral fixators. They have sprang up as a result of rings and K-wires in metaphyseal parts of the bone and half-pins in diaphyseal parts of the bone. The report shows advantages and disadvantages of the hybrid fixators, the most frequent indications and applications. The authors report on a tibial fracture treated by Scheffield configuration.
