Abstract		Open fractures, closed fractures with soft tissue injuries, burns and politraumatized children are good indications for use of external fixation as temporary or definite treatment. The advantages of external fixation are: its non invasiveness. Possible complications are: pin tract infection, lower range of motion, lower psychical tolerability. The experience with external fixation in children's trauma from 1997 - 2000 is analyzed.
