Abstract     The patient is nowadays a subject in the healing process and has a variety of rights. If he suspects his medical treatment was inadequate, he can put a complaint at the The Slovenian chamber of health care. The complaint must be written, signed and proven with evidence. lt can be laid in by relatives or different health institutions. Organs of the chamber discuss the patient's complaint: the court of arbitration, the prosecutor, The board for professional medical questions, The board for legal and ethical questions, The board for professional dental questions. The court of arbitration on the basis of established violations then utters various punitive decisions, in the worst cases confiscation of medical licence. A novelty is solving violations with settlement. Regulation of ways to complain is in patients' and doctors' concern. A productive complaint is a background information about medical work and helps to improve it.
