Abstract     We have designed a retrospective study in which we have compared final results in patients with unstable pelvic ring injury. We were especially interested in comparing groups in which posterior pelvis was internally stabilized, but anterior pelvis was in one group stabilized internally and in the other with external fixator. We have analyzed 40 consecutive patients with unstable pelvis. The final results were gained with Hanover pelvic score. We have found out that posterior fixation is obligatory for good final result. The group with internal fixation had better final results. The reason is that internal fixation is stronger that external. The external fixator plays extremely important role in treating haemodynamically unstable patient with pelvic injury.
