Abstract		Variceal bleeding remains the most important complication and cause of death in cirrhotic patients. Treatment options for acute bleeding are presented. New pharmacologic and combination treatment options are emerging beside established endoscopic therapy.
Summary		Krvavitev iz varic je pomemben zaplet jetrne ciroze z visoko smrtnostjo. Predstavljene so možnosti zdravljenja akutne krvavitve. Ob endoskopskem se uveljavlja tudi farmakološko zdravljenje kot samostojno zdravljenje in v kombinaciji z endoskopskim.
