Abstract		Experiments were made to throw more light on the functioning of the dog's elbow joint devoid of the anconeal processus. To this end, the anconeal processus was removed from 14 dogs in the way in which also the surgical treatment of the isolated processus anconaeus is carried out. Analysing the dogs in the experiment both clinically and roentgenologically, it has been found that the stability of the elbow joint devoid of the anconeal processus is preserved and that roentgenologically no pathologic changes in the joint following surgery were observed
