Abstract		The article presents a patient with an acute onset of chest pain. Acute coronary syndrome was suspected. Coronary angiography confirmed the presence of an unstable coronary plaque. Balloon dilatation with placement of an intracoronary stent was performed. Because the intervention was done early enough, there was no permanent damage of the myocardial muscle.
