| Abstract | In patients with chronic and end-stage renal failure, bone changes are a very frequent complication. The cause lies in disturbed mineral metabolism, hyperphosphatemia in particular. The clinical picture is very uncharacteristic. The golden standard for making the diagnosis is bone biopsy. However, this invasive method is painful and patients tend to avoid it. Therefore noninvasive methods are applied, among them is quantitative digital radiography. The paper describes the experience of the Maribor Teaching Hospital Department of Dialysis in using this method. | |
