Abstract     Different antigens can be found on the blood cell surface, among them tissue- or cell-specific antigens (CD). Monoclonal antibodies make it possible to perform a quantitative assessment of cell populations in blood, to sort and classify the cells according to their surface antigens. Immunophenotyping found its place first in the diagnosis of lymphoma and leukemia, but it is used more and more in other fields of hematology. In this presentation, the author wishes to show the importance and the use of these markers in diagnosis and therapy of hematological diseases.
