Abstract		In electroaudiometry, electric impulses are sent into the inner ear through an electrode placed in the external ear canal, and the auditory sensations perceived by the examinees are registered. Electroaudiometry was performed in 59 deaf patients. The aim of the procedure is to determine the voltage of electric current needed to evoke auditory sensation in the patients. The statistic method of linear regression was used to evaluate the correlation between voltage of the measured currents and duration of hearing loss and patient age. The calculated Bduration=-0.19 was not statistically significant (p=0.532). The coefficient of correlation for patient age was Bage=0.769 (p < 0.001). Electroaudiometry provides valuable information on functioning of the residual auditory pathway. It also confirms the functioning of a never working hearing pathway in deaf born patients. The duration of hearing loss does not influence the preservation of auditory pathway function as assessable by electroaudiometry. The aging processes of the auditory pathway can also be seen. Electroaudiometry is only one in the battery of investigations to be performed in cochlear implants candidates that are suitable for predicting the auditory pathway status in deaf patients over the age of 3.5 years who are able to cooperate during the procedure.
Summary		Pri električni avdiometriji položimo v sluhovod elektrodo, s katero v slušni živec dovajamo električne tokove. Električno avdiometrijo smo opravili 59 gluhim bolnikom. Merili smo jakost v sluhovod dovedenega električnega toka, pri katerem je bolnik zaznal zvok. S statistično metodo linearne regresije smo primerjali trajanje gluhosti in starost bolnika s povprečnimi pražnimi vrednostmi izmerjene električne avdiometrije. Potrdili smo, da ni pomembne povezave med trajanjem gluhosti in povprečno pražno vrednostjo, izmerjeno z električno avdiometrijo: Btrajanje =-0,19 (p=0,532). Potrdili smo, da je pomembna povezava med starostjo in povpreč no pražno vrednostjo: Bstarost=0,769 (p<0,001). Z meritvami električne avdiometrije smo potrdili, da lahko od rojstva nedelujoča slušna pot prevaja z električnimi impulzi sprožene akcijske potenciale, jih prevede do možganske skorje in sproži slušno zaznavo, ter da se slušna pot z leti nedelovanja ne izgubi in da ne propadejo njeni višje ležeči deli in povezave, so pa na njej opazni procesi staranja. V sklopu predoperacijskih testov pred izbiro kandidatov za vsaditev polžkovega vsadka je električna avdiometrija koristna in primerna metoda za ocenjevanje slušne poti gluhim bolnikom, starejšim od 3,5 let in sposobnim sodelovanja.
