Abstract     Cochlear implantation is a safe method rehabilitation for profoundly hearing impaired children or adults with inadequate results of hearing amplification. The criteria for cochlear implantation have evolved substantially in the past year. The minimum age for implantation has fallen below two years. Deafness caused by inner ear dysplasia is now routinely treated by cochlear implants. The paper presents a review of records for 90 patients who were treated with this method over the past eight years in Slovenia. The review is focused mainly on preoperative findings, surgical problems and postoperative complications.
V našem prispevku smo retrospektivno pregledali dokumentacijo naših 90 operirancev, ki smo jih obravnavali v zadnjih osmih letih v Sloveniji.
