Abstract     The aim of the study was to evaluate and compare the range of voice function damage in certain types of partial laryngectomies. Forty-three patients treated by either cordectomy, hemilaryngectomy, frontal-frontolateral or supraglottic laryngectomy were included in this study. Objective voice assessment was based on computer acoustic analysis of digital recordings made 6 to 12 months after the surgery. The duration and frequency parameters were compared between groups with different type of surgery and the control group. The maximum phonation time was reduced in all surgical types. Noise and voiceless periods were constant characteristics of voice after all types of partial laryngectomies. The best results were found in supraglottic laryngectomy. The extension of laryngeal ablation does not have a significant influence on the measured acoustic parameters.
