Abstract | Patients referred to rehabilitation centres often suffer from associated comorbidity, which might negatively influence the effective outcome of the treatment program. The study was aimed at evaluating the impact of comorbidity on functional independence and gain after stroke. The disability was evaluated, both at time at admission and at discharge in 60 patients who were admitted to stroke rehabilitation unit in Institute for rehabilitation. The comorbidity is correlated to dependence in stroke patients but does not affect functional gain. Comorbitiy is also one of the best predictors of handicap situations. | |
