Abstract		Love and intimacy, compassionate and caring relationships are at a root of what makes us sick and suffer and what makes us well and lead to healing. Sound scientific evidence of social support and loving relationships affecting the course of many diseases and pr-enaature mortality rates is reviewed. A hope for the medical system to face the challenge and embrace the r-elationship centred care is expressed.
