Abstract     Homeopathy is a therapeutic method established 200 years ago by German doctor and chemist dr. Samuel Hahnemann (1755 - 1843) The basic principles of homeopathic therapeutic method are: - the taw of similarities(the similia principle) - the use of drugs prepared on the basis of dissolution and potency - homeopathic methodology individualisation The basics for provig of healing effects of homeopathic remedies are: - testing of healing substances on healthy individuals (test of the drug - proving) - data from toxicological studies - clinical expiriences The roots of homeopathy are empiric - testing of remedies on healthy individuals is the foundation of homeopathy and is the first sistematic study of the effects of medicines in the history of the medicine. Homeopathy can prove its efectiveness only with good quality research studies. Two main fields of research in homeopathy can be identified: fundamental(preclinical) research(the similia principle and the effect of potentised remedies) and clinical research(randomised controlled trials of homeopathic remedies).
