Abstract		Measuring and comparing the electrical characteristics of the impulses of monophasic and some biphasic defibrillators, we try to find out if there is (from the electrical point of view) a biphasic equivalent of monophasic shocks. Because there are lots of claims that the biphasic defibrillators actively compensate for high transthoracic impedance, we measured how they really deal with it (how the shape of the impulse and current are changing dealing with different impedances).
