Abstract		In prehospital emergency outpatient unit is a great number of patients with non-emergency diseases or injuries, because of that we don't have enough of time for setting of one patient. At our work we find out that patients don't know exactly what are emergecies necessary to visit prehospital emergency outpatient unit . Because of that reason in Health Centre Celje in prehospital outpatient unit we carried out an investigation about most common reasons for patients visiting prehospital emergency unit, their recognition of emergencies; on the other hand we wanted to find out what are the reasons of patients visiting prehospital emergency unit from the medical view analizing data from medical outpatient book. The results show that 73% of patients estimate their visit in prehospital emergency outpatient unit as an emergency, 72% think that they know the rules of Health Insurance Institution of Slovenia according to the rights of emergency setting. They get information about diseases and injuries that belong to prehospital emergency outpatient unit mostly in these units (34%). Very encouraging is data that 73% of patients want to get more information about emergencies. Overlook of diagnoses from medical outpatient book confirmed that infectious diseases were the main reason for visiting prehospital emergency outpatient unit. On the second place are injuries with 25% of all visits. Patology of other organ sistems is much rarer. We estimated that visit of prehospital emergency outpatient unit is not always necessary, but it's hard to establish the rules. A partial solution is assigned with an education of patients that they should solve problems that are not life-threatening emergencies with their personal doctor.
