Abstract     In the forest of Črni vrh above Idrija a forester was seriously injured. Physician from Health centre Idrija examined the patient and revealed he had severe head and chest injuries. He decided to activate helicopter emergency team, because of serious injuries and long transportation time to the hospital. Injured person was transported by an ambulance to the forest margin, where helicopter emergency team has already been waiting (the primary accident place was inappropriate for landing). Patients vital functions were stabilized on the field and afterwards he was transported by the helicopter to the University Clinical Centre Ljubljana. Case report shows usefulness of activating helicopter emergency team in Slovenia, especially in the places far distant from the hospital and in places difficult of access.
