Abstract		Background. In patients with aids, the affection of nervous system is common. We present our clinical experiences, supported also by postmortem neuropathological examination. Methods. All the patients with aids, treated at the University Hospital for Infectious Diseases, Ljubljana, were surveyed in this retrospective study. Eight patients with central nervous system complications are presented. Results and conclusions. Our experiences are limited, but it is worth to mention, that the clinical presentation at the onset of the disease was modest, diagnostic procedures difficult to realise and the average survival was only two months in spite of adequate treatment. The review of literature is presented as well.
