Abstract     This article reviews personality traits in patients with epilepsy, known for many centuries. The term Geschwind syndrome has been suggested as a name for group of beha vioral disorders, based on carefully clinical signs. The Geschwind syndrome remains questioned and uncertain as a specific entity. It is generally agreed that the syndrome is not common. Circumstantiality, hypergraphia and viscosity, hyposexuality and intensification of cognitive and emotional behavior are major clinical signs of some patients with temporal epilepsy. There are many possible explanations of syndrome and carefully direded studies are needed to confirm or deny that the Geschwind syndrome represents a specific epilepsy/psychiatric disorder.
