Abstract		The author present some facts about alcohol society's attitude towards its consumption. Since 1986, the number of adolescents requiring medical assistance for alcohol intoxication has been monitored in the Department for Paediatrics at the Maribor Teaching Hospital. Blood alcohol levels were between 0.6 promile and 3.6 promiles. Initially, the trend showed a rapid increase, but in the last seven years a gradual decrease in the number of adolescents hospitalised for alcohol intoxication has been observed. The author describes the treatment and ongoing therapeutic measures.
