Abstract		By percutaneous ethanol injection (PEI) we try to destroy a tumor with direct injection of absolute ethanol into the tumor. With small tumors (<3cm in diameter) it can be used alone; mostly it is combined with other methods, preferably with transarterial chemoembolisation. Results of such treatment are comparable with surgical treatment.
