Abstract		This article discusses psychological problems of nursing mothers as observed by community nurses, and suggests solutions how to improve quality of breast feeding. A breastfeeding mother is often worried about success of breast feeding and about her baby not receiving enough mother's milk for his her growth. Depression that may take place after giving birth may also have a negative impact on a brestfeeding mother. Breastfeeding is less successful in families with bad relationship among family members and in families with social and economic problems. In this respect, it is very important that intra family relationship is good and that entire family keeps a positive attitude towards breast feeding. A knowledgeable and experienced community nurse will recognize and analyze psychological problems and obstacles of a breastfeeding mother, and shall guide her in overcoming such problems. This shall have a positive impact on duration and quality of breast feeding.
