Abstract     Statistically, lung cancer is - fortunately - in a slight decline. However this certainly does not mean that there should be no fear, because the number of women and young people diagnosed with lung cancer is increasing. Due to a large number of patients diagnosed with lung cancer, Slovenia is in urgent need for precise lung cancer diagnostics where several different radiological diagnostic methods are of great help. The success of these methods greatly effects the diagnosis accuracy as well as the course of further treatment of the patient diagnosed with lung cancer. It is therefore inevitable that one has the appropriate and professional knowledge to operate the radiological diagnostic equipment being the reason why the knowledge and experience of a radiographer is of key importance.
