Abstract     Asbestos has long been present in people's lives. In certain factories millions of workers all over the world were in contact with asbestos and so are we. Many scientists and different institutions researched asbestos and its effect on health of the employces in the 20th century. Their explanations were different and sometimes also controversial often because of the pressure of big companies which influenced the results of some researches. Asbestosis belongs to the pneurnokinosis of lungs which are diseases caused by inhalation of inorganic dust. Symptoms show up to 20 to 30 years after the exposition. Diagnosis is determined with the help of anamnesis, radiograph of breast organs and tests of lung function. At symptomatic patient with no changes in x-ray picture but being professionally exposed to asbestos we also make high resolution CT scan. Radiological characteristics can be divided into two larger groups: changes on pleura occuring more often and changes in lung parenhym.
