Abstract     Alcoholism treatment is complicated process that includes medical and intensive psychotherapeuti cal treatment. Psychotherapy is mostly given in form of the group psychotherapy that should be carried out by properly educated and experienced therapist. He/she should be familiar with theoretical background of relationship between patients and therapists (transference, counter-transference, working alliance, real relationship between people, bodily relationship, socio-cultural epistemology) and with phases in the personal development of the: therapist. Conditions that should be met by therapists to be able to work in alcoholism treatment process are listed along with some possibilities to get proper education in Slovenia.
