Abstract		Electives for medical, nursing, dental and pharmacy students, as well as doctors, to tropical countries have been part of the activities of the Section for Tropical and Travelling Medicine of the Slovene Medical Association for the past fourteen years. By means of a questionnaire, data was collected from participants in order to analyse these electives. It is our estimate that over 200 students and doctors have participated in these electives to date, working in Africa, South and Central America, Asia and Oceania. Most of the electives took place in Africa and the country most often visited was Zambia. The number of participants travelling together for an elective was from 2 to 9. Most of them were in the 7th year of their studies at the time of the elective.
Summary		Na Medicinski fakulteti Univerze v Ljubljani že štirinajst let deluje Sekcija za tropsko in potovalno medicino, v okviru katere študenti medicine, Visoke šole za zdravstvo, farmacije in dentalne medicine ter zdravniki potujejo na odprave v tropske dežele. S pomočjo vprašalnikov so bili zbrani podatki o udeležencih odprav. V nadaljevanju članka pa so dosedanje odprave v trope tudi statistično obdelane. Ocenjujemo, da se je odprav do sedaj udeležilo preko 200 ljudi, delovali pa so na področju Afrike, Južne in Srednje Amerike, Azije in Oceanije. Največ odprav do sedaj je odšlo v Afriko, in sicer v Zambijo. Odprave so štele od 2 do 9 udeležencev, največ udeležencev pa je bilo v času odprave absolventov.
