Abstract | The chronic ulcer does not heale in eight weeks. There are many reasons: insufficient blood supply, necrotic material, excess of exudate, senescent cells, bacterial infection... Necrotic tissue can be removed in different ways: mechanical, enzymatic, autolytic, biologic and surgical debridement. The ulcer can heel, if there is a moist environment. The exudation must be under control. The hemodynamic of tissue surrounding venous ulcer can be improved by compression therapy, of arterial ulcer by surgery revascularization techniques. If an infection of ulcer is suspected, the smab must be taken and the systemic administration of antibiotics according to bacterial culture and investigation of resistance must be applied. | |
