Abstract     In the last decades the skin cancers are widely described as worldmide epidemics. Speaking of them, we must differentiate between the malignant melanoma and nonmelanoma skin cancers (NMSC). While in the primary treatment of skin and mucosa malignant melanoma surgery remains almost the only option, in the treatment area of NMSC and their precursors the possibilities are much wider. Therapies currently used to treat localized NMSC include surgical (excision, cryotherapy, elektrodessication, laser therapy) and nonsurgical techniques. Speaking of the later, me can decide among radiation therapy, interferon alpha, S-fluoruracil, topical and systemic retinoids, diclofenac sodium, imiquimod and photodynamic therapy. The cure rate of these therapies are almost matching the surgical cure rates, and at the same time, because of their noninvasivenes, they are much more acceptable for many patients.
