Abstract     Lasers (light amplification by stimulated emision of radiation) as sources of high intensity monochromatic light and IPL systems (intense pulse light) which are emiting high intensity multichromatic pulsed light can be with the same principles employed in the treatment of many dermatological diseases. Depending on the target (vessels, pigmented structures, fibrous or keratotic tissue etc.), which can be either the etiological/patophysiological factor or the clinical manifestation of certain clinical condition, the proper choice of the system and parameters usualy leeds to beneficial effects. By now laser tratments of numerous conditions are in a way standardized, but for many others this is still an era of investigation.
