Abstract     A survey conducted among the sixth-grade medical undergraduates of the Division of Medicine, Medical Faculty, Ljubljana, showed that the students had poor knowledge of foreign words and medical jargon: they tended to misunderstand many of these expressions or were not familiar with them at all. The author suggests that some changes should be made in the basic undergraduate curriculum, with more emphasis being placed on foreign and jargon medical expressions, used in daily communication.
Summary     Anketa o poznavanju tujk v medicini, narejena med študenti 6. letnika odseka za medicino na Ijubljanski medicinski fakulteti, je pokazala, da študenti številnih tujk in žargonskih izrazov ne poznajo dovolj, jih sploh ne poznajo ali pa jih razumejo napačno. Avtor predlaga spremembo načina poučevanja, tako da bi namenili večjo pozornost tujkam in žargonskim izrazom, ki jih vsak dan uporabljamo.
