Abstract     Hepatitis A, B, and C viruses may be involved in pathogenesis or at least associated with various extrahepatic diseases. Hepatitis C virus and hepatitis B virus, and rarely hepatitis A virus, are connected with development of nephropathies/glomerulopathies. On the other hand, the patients on renal replacement therapy (on hemodialysis or with transplanted kidney) are susceptible for infections with hepatitis viruses. Moreover, the therapy of hepatitis may be causally related to appearance of some nephropathies, although the same therapy may be used for some extrahepatic diseases.
