Abstract		The goal of local wound treatment is to enable optimal micro environment for healing. Because the integrity of skin is damaged, a proper dressing is required. The role of dressing is to protect the underlying wound from further damage and infection. lt also fills the space of missing tissue and prevents drying of the wound and lowering of temperature. It is clear that there is no unique dressing that would be appropriate for all kind of wounds. Because of the changing conditions, the wound needs different kinds of material in the process of healing.
