Abstract     Prevalence of leg ulcers si well documented, varying between 0.18% and 1% in different countries in Europe. Leg ulcers occur more commonly in eldery people and their prevalence is likely to increase as the average age of the population increases. Leg ulcers are mainly caused by venous insufficiency, arterial insufficiency, neuropathy, diabetes, or combination of these factors. Treatment of leg ulcer depends on assessement of a patient and exact diagnosis. Management of leg ulcer assess: compresion (in a case of venous leg ulcer), cleansing, debridement, dressing, surgery and drug treatment.
