Abstract		Asthma as a chronic inflammatory disease of airways that causes airway hyperreactivity and reversibility of obstruction (variability of flow). Peak flow variability is a main feature of the disease and can be monitored at home with a simple device - PEF meter. Proper use of a PEF meter and self-management plan for asthma are the main topics of a successful management of a disease that incudes self-titration of both contoller and reliever drug dosage.
