Abstract		The article gives a description of the development of Maribor General Hospital (MGH) and its gynecologic part from the year 1234 - when Wolfram, the first known medical worker was active in Maribor - and up to the year 2000. The development and progress of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the last decade is very impressive. A number of new activities were initiated, new diagnostic and therapeutic procedures were introduced.
