Abstract     Multiple sclerosis is, beside epilepsy, the most wide-spread neurological disease. It affects persons during their active phase and exerts an important influence upon the quality of their life. It is progressive, manifesting itself in the pareses of the extremities, paresthesias, ambulation difficulties, eyesight problems, dizziness, micturition problems, pains, spasticity, tremor, fatigue, ... Some patients complain of fatigue as their greatest problem. As fati.gue is subjective, not readily verifiable and measurable, the present research task determines the fatigue phenomenon and its occurrence among the multiple sclerosis patients in Slovenia. The management of fatigue involves first of all determination of its cause and finding of a strategy with a target approach allowing the affected person to be optimally active in an area important to her. The foremost objective is occupational adaptation.
