Abstract		In this paper we wished to present the life-style of elderly people. The main of our work was to establish the contemporary life - style of elderly people in Prlekija. With the help of interviews the study has been made among elders living in the old people's home and those living on their own. The research involved ten people at the age over 65. All three areas of human activity were considered: daily activities, work and free time. The comparison has been made between the life-style of elders living in old people's home and those living on their own. It has been shown that the elders who live in old people's home have to obey certain rules and that causes some distinctions in their life-style. These distinctions are apparent at all areas of their activities, except by sleeping, the most noticeable being the distinction connected with their eating habits. In the old people's home the food is already prepared and served to them while if they live on their own they have to prepare it by themselves or someone of the family members.
