Abstract     In article it is presented the management system of chief nurses of health institutions of Slovenia. The results about present organization of the management system were collected through research, which were performed in 24 hospitals and 59 health centres. Irrespective of this that the results about management system were not good only a quarter of chief nurses thing, that organisational cganges in nursing are needed. In the article it is also presented Burke ‐ Litwin model of organisational cgange, which can be used also in nursing. The proposal of changes in management system will be presented on the conference according to the research results.
