Abstract     Early medical rehabilitation (EMR) of the patients after spinal surgery represents an unbroken chain of physical procedures with the basic goal of preventing all the expected respiratory, vascular, digestive and urinary tract complications, as well as contractures and bed sores development, thus granting solid fundaments for successful further complex rehabilitation. The most important method for prevention of the above mentioned complications it early verticalisation. All physical therapeutic procedures before and after the operation with special consideration on early verticalisation are discussed in this article.
