Abstract     Pityriasis Rosea is an acute, self-limiting skin eruption with a distinctive and constant course. The cause of pityriasis rosea is still unknown but many epidemiological and clinical features suggest that an infective agent may be implicated. We report a case of a 30-year old patient with typical clinical picture of pityriasis rosea, where skin lesions continued to develop for several weeks and no treatment was effective. We discovered a Toxocara canis infection and treated her with albendazol. After five days of therapy with albendazol, the skin lesions suddenly disappeared. Due to the clinical course, we assume that Toxocara canis infection might have been implicated in the aethiopatogenesis of the pityriasis rosea-like skin reaction in our patient. As speculated in other cases of concommitant infectious disorders and pityriasis rosea, an immune reaction, triggered by microbial antigens, might be involved in the development of skin lesions.
