Abstract     Osteoarthritis is a common, diverse multifactorial chronic disease, which often affects the quality of life. No etiological treatment exists. In a contemporary multidisciplinary approach non-pharmacological, pharmacological and surgical interventions play equally important roles. The goals are to reduce symptoms and disability and to preserve the quality of life. Universal, evidence based guidelines do not exist. We attempted to present recent evidence regarding treatment of osteoarthritis with paracetamol and NSAIDs including coxibs.
