Abstract     Adolescence is a period of opportunity and risk-taking behavior related to sexual activity and its unwanted consequences. Sexual activity of adolescents in Slovenia is increasing, however, the rate of unwanted pregnancies among adolescents is decreasing, mainly due to a higher contraceptive use. In addition to well-known »double protection«, the socalled »triple protection« against unwanted pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections and infertility is becoming important in the promotion of reproductive health.
