Abstract		Osteoporosis is associated with considerable morbidity and mortality of the elderly. With a healthy way of life we can achieve a greater peak bone mass, slow down the decreasing of bone mass in advanced age, thus preventing the development of osteoporosis. In cases of existing osteoporosis we can to a great extent prevent the occurrence of fragility fractures with effective medication.
